Not only do I love the stunning lighting and mystery of the painting, but also \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ethe literal directness of the title. My titles portray the idea or concept playing in my \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ehead. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe striped bikini is such a major part of this painting that I wanted to title it in honour \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eof all the artists who have made it possible for contemporary artists, like me, to follow \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eour passion. Their skill, bravery and connection to us all, through their incredible \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ework, inspire me every day.’\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e‘All of my work is created by blowing acrylic paint using only my breath. I do not use any equipment at all (including straws) and do not physically touch at all the canvas or glass on which I paint.’ I am an artist inspired by the movement of water and the way the water surface abstracts the aquatic forms below. My paintings explore this combination, using palettes of contrasting colours and negative space. As in nature, the ever-changing light on the paint reveals the subtle texture of the water caused by its own flow and that by the form beneath. Through my work, I hope to express the calmness and intrigue that water brings me. Work that continues to surprise and brings tranquillity to a space and some serenity to people’s lives.
