"My work is always tied to specific memories of experiences I’ve had with the landscape; this painting captures a place I visit often – Denbies Hillside in the Surrey Hills — but in a way that I had never seen it before. Freshly-laid snow on a brilliantly sunny February morning felt like a revelation, completely transforming a landscape I thought I knew well and making me see it completely differently."
