Commissions
If you have seen a piece you love but the size is wrong, the colours are not quite right for the room, or you want the view from your own window rather than someone else's — ask us. We represent a large number of artists and we are happy to put the question to them on your behalf.
How it works
- Tell us what you have in mind. Come in, ring us, or send an email. A photograph of the wall and a rough idea of the size helps more than anything else.
- We speak to the artist. We will tell you honestly whether it is something they take on, and roughly what it would cost.
- You see a quote and a timeline before anything begins. Nothing is committed until you are happy with both.
- The work is made — and we can frame it here. Our framing workshop is on site, so the piece can be finished and ready to hang without leaving the building.
What people usually ask for
- An existing work in a different size, for a particular wall
- The same subject in a different palette, to sit with a room
- A place that matters to you — a view, a house, a stretch of coast
- A companion piece, so a pair hangs together
Worth knowing
Not every artist takes commissions, and we would rather tell you that on the day than keep you waiting. Where an artist does not, we will usually be able to suggest someone whose work sits close to what you had in mind.
Every piece we sell is an original. We do not sell prints, so a commission is a one-off in the truest sense.
