"These are the latest pieces in an ongoing series, painted directly onto linen book covers. I have a lifelong love of books as tactile items, as well as vessels for thoughts, ideas and memories.
Sketchbooks are a key part of my process and I spend a lot of time drawing on location; these paintings take that connection one step further - using the fabric cover as a canvas on which to capture my interactions with the landscape, and to record the places these books have been."

The Artist
Rob Murray
A self-taught painter, Rob has developed a following amongst collectors and his work is now held in a wide range of private collections in the UK, Continental Europe and the USA. His paintings have also been selected for group shows and exhibitions, including the inaugural Westmorland Landscape Prize (2019) and the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition (2020).
